Mr. Mahesh Shah, reckoned as a powerful figure in the contemporary financial sector of India, has successfully dealt with various companies and industrial houses in the area of asset funding, arranging institutional finance, project evaluation, acquisition, merger, corporate advisory services investment etc as the director of Inter Corporate Financiers & Consultants Ltd, SEBI Authorized Category I Merchant Banker.
Mr. Shah is a qualified Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, Company Secretary along with a degree in Law and Business Management. He is the Past President of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, The Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India, and has been a Past member of Accounting Standard Board of ICAI, Past member of Compliance Committee, member of Executive Committee of International Federation of Accountant (IFAC), Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) and South Asian Federation of Accountants(SAFA).
He has well represented leading industrial and trade bodies-both on regional and national level such as the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Bharat Chamber of Commerce, Calcutta Chamber of Commerce, CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM etc and he was a member of advisory committee constituted by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts (ICFAI), he was also the member of the technical group for the Depositary System appointed by Ministry of Finance and member of review committee for reviewing MRTP Act, Companies Act, Chartered Accountants Act, Companies Secretaries Act, Cost and Works Accountants Act appointed by Ministry of Law, Government of India. He has also represented ICSI and ICWAI in various official delegations/meetings conducted from time to time with various Ministries including the Ministry of Finance and other regulatory bodies such as RBI, SEBI, Stock Exchanges, CBDT, CBEC etc relating to the development in the Economy and Capital Markets.
He has also participated and represented Papers in various national and international seminars, workshops and professional development programs conducted by the Institute as well as other trade, educational and professional bodies on matters relating to Finance, Trade and Commerce, WTO and GATS.
Mr. Shah is a prolific writer and eloquent speaker on matters concerning Corporate Finance, Industry, Accounting, Auditing, Economic Issues, Investment Management and other related subjects. He has also contributed articles in various Professional Journals, Economic Newspapers, and Bulletins. He was awarded the Prestigious Sarda Memorial Award for Excellence in the year 1978, when he stood All India 2nd in the merit at the Final Chartered Accountancy Examination.
He participated in the number of International meets and visited number of countries as part of business and trade delegation and interacted with industrialists, businessmen, bureaucrats, scholars, head of state, ministers etc on international trade, finance and social system.
