Resources for CSR – Annual Budget

The Budget for CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is pegged at 2% of the previous year’s net profit (PAT) of the Company. Besides the annual allocation for the specific programmes, the CSR budget provisions for the following:

  • Rs.5 Crores as contribution to the GAIL Charitable and Education Trust, which has been created to dispense scholarships & awards on merit-cum-means basis

  • 10% of the annual CSR budget towards relief in the event of Natural calamities or disasters affecting the communities in which it operates, subject to a minimum of Rs.5 Crores

  • 1% of the CSR budget each year for need identification and impact assessment study.
