Shri R.M. Sethi , is a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Political Science & English Literature, and Masters in Political Science. He was taught at the University of Allahabad, and at the National Academy of Administration Mussoorie. He was also the first Hubert Humphrey Fellow, 1979-80 from India, and studied Management & Economics at the University of Boston, USA.
Mr. Sethi joined the prestigious Indian Administrative Service in 1970. He took voluntary retirement from the I.A.S. in February 1996, and set up the Stellar Group of Companies to participate in the country’s growing economy, and changes brought about through the policies of liberalization. He has held senior duty positions at Policy making levels, and as Chief Executive, in various organisations of the Government of India, and of the State Government of U.P. He is a unique blend of a person with Government experience and as a successful entrepreneur.
Mr. Sethi has travelled all over Europe, North America, South East Asia & the Far East, the Pacific Islands, as well as Africa.
Mr. Sethi has been an expert with the Common Wealth Fund for Technical Co-operation, having carried out a three months Consultancy for Industrial Projects, in Papua New Guinea, for UNIDO at Vienna, and in India, as well as for the Food & Agricultural Organization [FAO], on fertilizer & seeds. He had presented a paper on Labour Management in the Public Sector, at the Second Boston Area Public Enterprises International Conference in 1980. He has written a number of articles, many of which have been published. He has al so written a number of other papers for International Seminars and Conferences.
An expert in Turnaround Management, Mr. Sethi has been a Consultant with large as well as medium scale private companies bringing them back to health. Through hands on approach, he has turned around sick Public Sector Undertakings.
