New Delhi, March 20, 2008:- On the fourth day of the 29th PSPB Tournament being played here, Chetan Anand of ONGC defeated Siddhartha Jain also of ONGC 21-12, 21-13 in the first semifinal to reach the finals of the men’s tournament. Chetan will clash with P Kashyap of IOCL in the finals who defeated Ravinder Singh of GAIL in the second semifinal 21-13, 21-13.

In the women’s event, Aditi Mutatkar of BPCL defeated B R Meenakshi IOCL 21-17, 21-13 in the first semifinal. In the second semifinal, Aparna Balan of IOCL defeated Neelima Chetri  of GAIL 21-03, 21-04.

In Men’s Doubles, Rupesh Kumar and V Diju of ONGC defeated Thomas Kurien and Siddhartha Jain also of ONGC 21-10, 21-08. Earlier, Rupesh Kumar and V Diju of ONGC got a walkover against Nikhil Kanetkar and JBS Vidyadhar of IOCL in the first semifinal. In the second semifinal, Thomas Kurien and Siddhartha Jain of ONGC defeated Jaseel P Ismail and Marcus Bristow of IOCL 21-14, 21-10.

In Women’s Doubles, Jwala Gutta and Shruti Kurien of BPCL defeated B R Meenakshi and Aparna Balan of IOCL 21-15, 21-13. Earlier, in the semifinals, Jwala Gutta and Shruti Kurien of BPCL defeated Neelima and Maya of GAIL 21-01, 21-03, whereas, B R Meenakshi and Aparna Balan of IOCL defeated Vineeta and Sampada of EIL  21-04, 21-06.

The final in the Veterans Singles category will be played between Pradeep Iyangar of BPCL and Ranjan Ghosh of EIL. In the first semifinal, Pradeep Iyanger of BPCL defeated S B Ramdasi of HPCL 21-18, 21-17. In the second semifinal, Ranjan Ghosh of EIL defeated  Milind Ghate of BPCL 21-06, 21-10.

In the Veterans Doubles category, Pradip Iyanger and Milind Ghate of BPCL defeated Tilak Raj and Dilip Sukhtankar of ONGC 21-06, 21-14 in the finals. In the first semifinal, Tilak Raj and Dilip Sukhtankar of ONGC defeated Lingamurthy and Shashi Malindkar of BPCL 21-08, 21-13. In the second semifinal, Pradip Iyanger and Milind Ghate of BPCL defeated V K Kansal and B S Pathania of IOCL 21-08, 21-15.
